My dream to bring a fine dining wine bar to Chilliwack sprouted during a time of world-wide turbulence. Amid flooding, ice storms, delays, and closures, I certainly felt the struggle to bring this dream to life!

While contemplating names for the wine bar, I thought about wine terminology. Fortified wine is wine that has been made stronger through adding distilled spirits. This resonated with me as I knew I was going to become a stronger person through the challenges of pursuing this dream.

Fortitude means courage in pain or adversity, and this word seemed to perfectly represent not just my journey, but our collective journey of moving towards a place of gathering and joy again.

We look forward to welcoming you in to Fortitude Wine Bar, our place of gratitude, joy, and resilience. 

Chilliwack’s downtown core has received a lot of love these past few years, and has become a diverse and beautiful place to eat, shop, and do business in the Fraser Valley. Our city has welcomed several breweries, and it seemed like the right time to provide our community with the unique experience of a wine bar. There’s no better place to shop local, eat local, and drink local, than here in District 1881.

Fortitude Wine Bar was born from a love of hospitality, community, and wine; So of course we searched high and low for people with similar passions. We are dedicated not only to serving great food and drink, but also to creating a welcoming atmosphere where laughter and smiles come easily.
